On the sides of the body there are dark wide stripes, which are framed below by a bluish or white narrow strip. The chest and throat are greenish-blue, and the belly is yellow-white.

Where do Korean longtails live?

These lizards live on Soyshu Island, in Korea, East China and Southeast Manchuria. In our country, they are also found, but only in the very south of Primorsky Krai, meeting up to the valley of the Iman River.

These lizards live in the Asian part of the Eurasian continent.

The habitat of Korean long tails, in contrast to the Amur lizards, are open areas. If the habitats of the Amur and Korean long-tails converge, then their habitat is clearly divided: the Amur long-tails live on glades, slopes and edges, and the Korean prefer open swamps and meadows. Korean longtails were seen on the shores of lakes in reed beds and on steep slopes.

Korean long-tailed lives in secluded places.

Like all lizards, Korean long tails shelter in rodent burrows, in dense grass or in crevices between stones. In case of danger, it can dive into the water, as it can swim well. Korean lizards are very mobile, they quickly run and climb on grass and shrubs.

What do Korean longtails eat?

The diet of these lizards, the same as that of other counterparts, it consists of insects and arachnids.

Breeding korean long tails

The Korean longtail comes out after wintering later than the Amur longtail, it happens at the beginning of May. Most likely, females lay their eggs, like most lizards, at least 2 times per season. During the breeding season, females lay up to 17 eggs. In late August - early September, young long tails can already be seen along the side of country roads.

There are many varieties of long-tailed lizards.

Young individuals have a dark color, their body is almost black, while the length of their body reaches about 7 centimeters.

The ecology of this species has been studied rather poorly. People actively master the natural habitat of Korean long tails, which negatively affects the population size.
